Winners of regional Director's Award 2009
| The Tech HEds were the overall winners of the South West Regional Tournament on 25 November 2009 at HP in Bristol. This qualified the team to compete in the UK final at Loughborough University on 23 January 2010.
The robot performed reasonably well on the table – it was in 6th place after the qualifying rounds but was knocked out in the quarter-finals. We were aiming for a maximum of 285 points but scored a maximum of 165 on the day. The robot was running along the outer wall to ensure that it ran straight into base but it climbed the wall on the tournament tables. We fixed this before the UK final by adding a touch sensor and firming up the hardware. |  |
