We are a group of home-educating families from the area centred around Swindon (from Faringdon to Calne and Devizes, Bath to Newbury).

Events are organised by home-educating families for home-educating families at a cheap rate or for free. We meet for a social afternoon every two weeks in Swindon and once a month in Devizes. There is a book group in Calne, swimming in Swindon and robotics (9-16 years) in Swindon.

We have an email list on which we discuss local issues and swap news of local events.

23rd January 2010: TechHEds win the Technical Design award in UK FLL final

15th September 2009: Not-Back-to-School Bubble-Blowing Picnic

Come along to Queens Park from 11-3, spread the message, show that EHE children are not "hidden" and protest against the Badman review.

This is part of a national event: across the country, picnics are being organised for families to meet with old friends and make new ones, dispelling the myth that home educated children do not get a chance to socialise and are 'hidden'. It will send a message to the government about objections to restrictions on home education. This will also be a chance for families new to home education to find out about the many activities that home-educators run and about home education in general.

11th September 2009: Meeting with Michael Wills about the Badman Review at 6:15pm at Covingham Primary School. Find out about the issues from AHEd.

15 February 2009: Last week of the Elective Home Education Review. DCSF's short online questionnaire closes on 20 February. Please fill in the questionnaire and tell the government what you think. You can get help in completing it:

6 February 2009: Sign a petition to remind the government that parents must remain responsible in law for ensuring the welfare and education of their children

24 January 2009: The TechHEds won the Research Project award at the UK final of the FLL competition.
